Ghost River Outfitters

For beginners that would like to paddle without a full day comminment on the river -

Starting at noon every Saturday and Sunday, we are now offering boat rentals for an hourly rate at the Bateman Bridge! This is for anyone wanting to paddle around in one area without taking off downriver. This is a great opportunity for beginners, those interested in trying a SUP for the first time, and/or folks that want to paddle but don't have a full day to paddle the Ghost Section. $20 an hour for canoe, kayak or SUP - rentals will continue until sunset (ONLY for hourly rate renters staying close by the Bateman Bridge). Canoe*: Rent a canoe for a day on the Ghost Section for $50. Our canoes are stable and durable. They're usually the first choice for groups and/or couples. Each of our canoes will comfortably seat two - a third paddler is acceptable only if he/she is under 90 lbs. Canoes have plenty of room for gear and coolers. Most canoeists finish their journey down the Ghost Section between 4 and 6 hours.

Kayak*: Rent a kayak for a day on the Ghost Section for $40. We carry both "sit-in" and "sit-on-top" kayaks for rent - both are equally suitable for the Ghost Section. Our kayaks are very stable and highly maneuverable. Contrary to popular belief, these boats make navigation much easier for the unexperienced paddler. We recommend kayaks for anyone with little experience in paddling. These single person boats are equipped with great storage (but not nearly as much as a canoe) for any gear or food you plan to bring.

SUP*: Rent a stand-up paddleboard on the Ghost Section for $50. These are for the true adventurists. Advanced level of paddling is required to rent a SUP. Operating a paddleboard requires a high fitness and balance level. They also serve as awesome guideboats for our tours.

*There is a 6 hour limit on the water with each rental.

Additional Services

Guide: We offer a guide service available to all customers for $90. We recommend the guide service for large groups and/or any interested in learning about the Ghost River. The guide experience also offers paddlers an authentic feel for the Ghost River - along with a chance to spot some of its many wild inhabitants.

Shuttle: Our shuttle service is the most convenient option for any boat-owner planning to paddle the Ghost Section. It's no fun bringing two vehicles for a day on the water. We will take you and your boat up river for $10.

1. Drive East on Hwy 57 (Poplar Ave) 2 miles past Moscow, TN.

2. Turn right on Bateman Rd.

3. Drive 2 miles to Bateman Bridge.

4. Park in the public access parking lot next to the Wolf River.

5. Board the Ghost River shuttle for a short drive up river.
